But if we neglect any one of these areas, we cheat ourselves and run the risk of burn out and regret. We feel regret for letting the things that matter slip by, for letting ‘over’ work prevent meaningful relationships from developing, for not really discovering what we believe in and what we are striving for.
If we don’t actively decide, it will be decided for us.
Health isn’t just giving our bodies the nutrition and exercise it requires. Health is understanding where we find fulfillment, worth, and meaning and actively pursuing those things. Balance can mean the difference between dragging ourselves around each day and living enthusiastically.
